1. Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or an 8×8-inch dish with non-stick spray.
2. Mix the Dry Ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir to mix well.
3. Mix the Wet Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, maple syrup or honey, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
4. Combine the Wet and Dry Ingredients
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples.
5. Assemble the Oatmeal Bake
- Pour the oat and apple mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Drizzle about ¼ cup of the caramel sauce over the top of the oatmeal mixture.
6. Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the oatmeal is set.
7. Serve
- Let the oatmeal bake cool for a few minutes, then drizzle the remaining caramel sauce on top.
- Serve warm, and enjoy it as-is or with a dollop of yogurt or a splash of milk.
