Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually stir in boiling water until well combined (batter will be thin).
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, layer the cakes with sliced strawberries and whipped cream in between and on top.
