DIY Floor Detergent: Sanitize and Clean Streak-Free with This Recipe

Cleaning floors can be a time-consuming yet essential chore. Over time, dirt accumulates on the floor, giving your home an unkempt appearance. Grout lines, in particular, are prone to discoloration due to the buildup of dirt, grease, and bacteria.

In this article, we’ll show you how to create a DIY floor cleaner to avoid using commercial ones purchased from the supermarket, which often contain harmful chemicals and toxins.

While floors are a significant part of our homes, they can be challenging to clean. Some stains may be resistant to water alone, leaving behind streaks that are tough to remove.

The DIY floor cleaner we recommend below is highly effective at tackling even the most stubborn dirt, disinfecting your floors, and leaving behind a refreshing pine scent.

Ingredients:

  • 500 ml (about 2 cups) of white vinegar
  • 100 ml (about 1/2 cup) of eco-friendly liquid soap
  • 2 tablespoons of alcohol
  • 30 drops of pine essential oil

Instructions:

  1. Pour the white vinegar, eco-friendly liquid soap, alcohol, and pine essential oil into a large bottle equipped with a spray nozzle.
  2. Shake the mixture thoroughly to ensure all the ingredients are well combined.

You can use this DIY floor cleaner just like any other spray cleaner. Dilute it in water as you would with a conventional product, and enjoy a clean and fresh-smelling home without the worry of harsh chemicals.
