DIY Laundry Soap Liquid/Gel (depending on climate) from Homemade Laundry Bar Soap

Ingredients:

2 bars (240g total) homemade laundry bar soap, grated

1 cup washing soda (sodium carbonate)

8 cups (2L) water, filtered

Liquid Laundry Soap:

Grate soap; combine with washing soda and water in a saucepan.

Heat on low-medium, stir until soap dissolves.

Let it cool covered for a day/overnight.

Pour into clean bottles; add essential oils if desired (20ml per 2L).

Gel Laundry Soap:

Dissolve grated soap in 2 cups water on the stove.

Separately, dissolve washing soda in 6 cups water.

Mix both solutions; add essential oils if desired.

Let it set into a gel, covered.

Usage:

1/4 to 1/2 cup per laundry load.

Adjust for machine type, load size, soil level.

Less soap may be needed for front-loaders.

Vinegar Rinse:

Instead of fabric softener, use a vinegar-water mix in the dispenser.

Helps soften fabrics and keep the machine clean.
