How To Remove Pet Stains From Carpet

You’ll need:

White vinegar

Baking soda

Large dish

Directions:

1. Saturate the Stain with Vinegar: Begin by blotting the spot with a towel to absorb as much urine or waste as possible. Then, pour enough white vinegar on the stain to saturate it without making the carpet too wet.

2. Sprinkle the Spot with Baking Soda: After saturating the stain with vinegar, sprinkle a generous layer of baking soda over the area. You’ll hear it fizz as the baking soda reacts with the vinegar to lift the stain and odor out of the carpet fibers.

3. Wait for the Area to Dry: Allow the vinegar and baking soda to dry completely. This may take a day or two, so cover the area with a large dish to prevent anyone from stepping in it and to remind you to check back later.

4. Vacuum It Up: Once the spot is completely dry, use a dustpan to scoop up as much of the hardened baking soda as possible and discard it. Then, vacuum the area to pick up any remaining residue and reveal a fresh, clean carpet.
