Ingredients:
1 kg of blood oranges 🍊
Lemon juice (optional, for adjusting acidity) 🍋
Enough water to cover the oranges 💧
Let’s Make Jam:
1️⃣ Preparing the Oranges:
Thoroughly wash to remove any dirt or wax. Dry, then peel with care.
2️⃣ Cutting Oranges:
Slice thinly, removing seeds. Halve slices for quicker cooking.
3️⃣ Cooking:
Cover slices with water in a large pot. Simmer on medium-low for 45-60 minutes until soft and peels are translucent.
4️⃣ Blend:
Use an immersion blender to puree the cooked oranges into a smooth consistency.
5️⃣ Adjust Acidity:
Add lemon juice to taste, if desired, and mix well.
6️⃣ Reduction:
Return to heat, stirring occasionally, until the jam thickens slightly.
7️⃣ Storage:
Pour hot jam into sterilized jars and seal. Store in the fridge for up to two weeks or freeze for longer shelf life.
