1. Melt the Butter
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
2. Cook the Garlic
- Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it brown.
3. Make a Roux
- Stir in the flour and cook for another 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly to form a roux. This will help thicken the sauce.
4. Add the Milk
- Gradually whisk in the milk (or cream), continuing to stir until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken, about 3-4 minutes.
5. Add the Cheese and Seasoning
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning (if using), and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce is thick and creamy.
6. Serve
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
- Spread the garlic sauce over your pizza crust or use it as a dipping sauce for pizza, breadsticks, or garlic knots.
