Sausage, Gravy, and Biscuit Pie

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Make the Biscuit Crust:
    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • Stir in the milk until just combined. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times. Roll out to fit a 9-inch pie dish, then press it into the dish.
  3. Brown the Sausage:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Make the Gravy:
    • Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  5. Assemble the Pie:
    • Pour the sausage gravy into the biscuit crust, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuit crust is golden brown.
