- Prepare the Pudding:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened, about 2 minutes.
- Add the sweetened condensed milk and softened cream cheese, beating until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in the Whipped Topping:
- Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until well combined. This will create a light, fluffy mixture.
- Layer the Pudding:
- In a 9×13-inch dish or a large trifle bowl, begin by adding a layer of vanilla wafers on the bottom.
- Next, add a layer of sliced bananas on top of the wafers.
- Spread a portion of the pudding mixture over the bananas, smoothing it out evenly.
- Repeat the layers—wafers, bananas, and pudding—until all ingredients are used, ending with a final layer of pudding.
- Chill:
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight if possible) to allow the flavors to meld and the wafers to soften slightly.
- Serve: Garnish with extra vanilla wafers or banana slices if desired. Spoon out servings and enjoy!
