THE BEST HOMEMADE PANCAKES

Instructions

1. Preheat the Griddle or Pan

  • Heat a non-stick griddle or large skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

3. Prepare the Wet Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using).

4. Combine the Wet and Dry Ingredients

  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. The batter will be lumpy—do not overmix, as this will result in dense pancakes.

5. Cook the Pancakes

  • Pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the hot griddle or skillet for each pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until bubbles form on the surface and the edges start to set.
  • Flip the pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter.

6. Serve

  • Serve the pancakes warm with your favorite toppings, such as maple syrup, butter, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
