Ingredients:
1 bar Fels Naptha (Yes, the ENTIRE Bar!)
1 cup 20 Mule Team Borax
1 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda (NOT BAKING SODA!!)
4 cups of hot water
Instructions:
1. Grate the entire bar of Fels Naptha soap into small flakes.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine the grated soap with 4 cups of hot water. Heat on medium-low, stirring constantly, until the soap is completely melted.
3. In a large container, combine the melted soap, 1 cup of Borax, and 1 cup of Washing Soda. Stir until all the ingredients are well dissolved and combined.
4. Allow the mixture to cool. It will thicken into a gel-like consistency.
5. Transfer the mixture into a half-gallon container for storage. Use one tablespoon per load of laundry.
6. This makes 1/2 gallon of concentrate, enough for 128 loads of laundry! As with all household soap/detergent/cleaner recipes, please read through the entire recipe before starting. It will save you loads of hassle with a recipe that doesn’t set properly.
Enjoy fresh, clean clothes with this super-effective and economical laundry sauce!
