Classic Cherry Delight is a nostalgic and delicious dessert that combines layers of creamy goodness, tart cherries, and a buttery crust. For the crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

For the cream cheese layer:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)

For the cherry layer:

  • 2 cans (21 ounces each) cherry pie filling


  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix well until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  2. Press the crumb mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form the crust.
  3. In another mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese, and continue beating until well combined.
  5. Fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the graham cracker crust in an even layer.
  7. Pour the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, spreading it out to cover the entire surface.
  8. Refrigerate the dessert for at least 2 hours, or until set and chilled.
  9. Once chilled, slice the classic cherry delight into squares and serve.
