Say Goodbye to Stains with This DIY Stain Remover Recipe!

Good morning, friends! I am beyond thrilled to share a little secret with you this morning! I’ve got a super simple recipe for the BEST stain remover ever!! And my bet is, you already have the ingredients on hand! I’m serious……this is literally the BEST DIY stain remover you’ll ever use!!

The Stain Struggle: I know most people don’t enjoy doing laundry…..I say MOST because I’m one of those nerds who really doesn’t mind laundry. But isn’t it annoying when you have to take extra time to treat stains? Ugh! All moms know, our time is precious, and there’s not enough of it to get everything done in a day, so we sure don’t need to be spending extra time in the laundry room scrubbing & soaking, trying to get stains out of clothes!

The Solution: I’ve been having some trouble with my washer lately. Maybe some of you have had this happen as well and can enlighten me on a solution. Every once in a while it will leave huge ‘oil like’ stains on our clothing. It’s so annoying to pull out my favorite shirt only to find a big spot on it. I’ve tried everything to get the stain out, but nothing seems to work.

The Miracle Remedy: I cringe at the thought of how many pieces of clothing I’ve thrown out because I couldn’t get the stains out!!……until now! This DIY stain remover recipe has worked on EVERY stain I’ve used it on…..even those dark underarm stains, and grass stains. I even had set in GREASE stains all over my work coat. I really didn’t think they would come out. I did have to treat it two times, and use a toothbrush to scrub the stain, but every bit of grease came out. Amazing!! No more panicking when I see a tough stain!

The Recipe: It’s so easy to make you won’t believe it and doesn’t take hours of soaking. I spread some of the solution on the stain, let it sit for 15-30 minutes and wash as usual.

The DIY Stain Remover Recipe:

  • 1 tbsp peroxide
  • 1 tbsp blue dawn dish soap
  • 1 tsp baking soda (*adjust these measurements according to the size of the stains)

Instructions:

Step 1: Mix a small amount of the solution into a paste and distribute on stains. (I just use the back of a spoon to spread it on the stain). These are stains from a bloody nose my daughter had the other day.

Step 2: Let sit for 15-30 minutes, then wash as usual. If it’s a tough stain, after 30 min I’ll gently scrub it with a toothbrush before I wash it.

Conclusion: Ta Da!! Look at that! Good as new! So quick & easy! NOTE– Only mix up an amount needed at the time you are treating the stains. This should NOT be made in advance and stored because the peroxide will decompose and lose it’s effectiveness.

How simple is that? Gotta love simple DIY recipes! Hope this makes your laundry days a bit more enjoyable!

Until next time
